Corn Moon Socks

Sale Price:£5.20 Original Price:£6.50

This is the next in my series of New Moon Socks - a series of 13 sock designs inspired by the names used for the New Moon throughout the year in the Farmers Almanac.

Worked toe-up I won’t pretend that these unisex cabled socks are the quickest to knit but they give such a pretty effect I am willing to forgive them.

A series of small 1/1 cables also gives you plenty of time to practice cabling without a needle. If you have ever wanted to learn this super handy technique this project will be perfect for that - and it really speeds up the cabling process.

The pattern is written with a standard short row heel for comfort and ease but is easily adapted if you wanted to use your preferred short row method such as the Fish Lips Kiss heel.

MATERIALS

2.5 mm 100cm circular needle for magic loop (the instructions are written for magic loop but are easily adaptable to other methods of small-circumference knitting).

1 x 100g Malabrigo Sock 100% superwash merino. 402m/440yds. Colourway: 035 Frank Ochre.

GAUGE: 32 stitches x 44 rows = 10cm/4" in stocking stitch, lightly blocked.

SIZE: M (L): 8-9” (9-10”) circumference with approx 2cm/0.75" negative ease.
