Texture Pop Blanket and KAL
Texture Pop Blanket and KAL
This is going to be a relaxed 10-week long KAL for a lap-sized textured blanket. It’s a knitalong but there is no mystery as you will get all the weeks upfront and you can feel free to proceed at your own pace.
This is not a race and there are no prizes for first place.
The Texture Pop pattern is inspired by gansey style sweaters with textured bands of stitches interspersed with bands of stocking stitch. There are 9 different stitch pattern - simple knit/purl patterns but charts will be provided where applicable.
The sample is knit in DK yarn but it would equally well in worsted or aran weight with adjustment for yardage.
Needles: 4.5mm circular needle at least 80cm long.
Gauge: 20sts and 26 rows to 10cm (4")
Yarn: 14 skeins of Ewe and Ply Shropshire DK (Catkins) 50g 120m (approx 1700-1800m in total)
Yarn substitution: the yarn used is a relatively woolly and rustic one with the following composition: 34% Welsh Mule, 28% Shropshire, 20% Sherino, 18% Bluefaced Leicester.
