Wyrt Socks

Wyrt Socks

These toe-up socks feature a bold textured cable and plenty of squishy garter stitch.

Expresso

Expresso

A unisex cabled sock is worked from the toe-up and features an afterthought heel and designed with self-striping yarn in mind

Beltane Socks

Beltane Socks

These spring-like socks feature a sinuous, winding cable which looks impressive with it’s unusual double twist.

Bleaberry Tarn

Bleaberry Tarn

These fun, simple socks help to show off a wonderful yarn with a decorative ribbed side cable, the knit stitches being worked through the back loop to give definition to the cable.

Comb Gill

Comb Gill

The unisex cable design makes use of left-twist and right-twist stitches to result in a pleasing, cascade effect along the sock.

Green Gable

Green Gable

A simple but effective slip-stitch pattern gives a striking mock cable effect (without the hassle). The pattern is easy to memorise and results in a subtly textured fabric which is suitable for either gender - no lace here! Additional texture comes from the Eye of Partridge heel flap - beautiful and practical.

Have Fun Socks

Have Fun Socks

This pattern is given as a basic recipe for a sock knit from the toe-up with stitch counts to fit an average size womans foot (8”) and an average size mens foot (9”).

Grab some fun self striping yarn and get knitting.

Haystacks

Haystacks

Some fun slipped stitch mock cables work their way along the sock – easy to work and easier to memorise they make for the perfect travel project, and the ribbing ensures a good stretchy fit – perfect for gifts and that picky man in your life.

Hoar Frost

Hoar Frost

Inspired by lacy delicate fronds these toe-up socks feature a delicate lace panel and a slipped stitch mock cable which looks complicated but in reality is very simple to work.

Honeycomb Cables

Honeycomb Cables

A simple but striking Honeycomb cable runs along the front and back of these socks, adding detail without bulk and is complemented by an Eye of Partridge heel flap. The pattern is easy to memorise and mildly addictive, making them a rapid and fun knit.

Lunar Tides

Lunar Tides

This sock features a fun cable and lace pattern, set off by a gusset heel. The straightforward lace pattern gives just a hint of texture and openness to the cable.

Museum Street Socks

Museum Street Socks

I love how these socks also explore twists and turns as the two sets of cables meander along.

Rosthwaite

Rosthwaite

Knitted from the cuff down, these socks feature a very simple but effective series of cables. Wonderfully easy to memorise and ideal for gifting, these unisex socks also feature an afterthought heel.

Rowan Moon Socks

Rowan Moon Socks

This unisex toe-up sock uses a simple but striking cable pattern, similar to the long thin pairs of Rowan leaves, which is easily memorised. It works over a ten-round repeat but only three of those rounds require any cable stitches.

Samhain Socks

Samhain Socks

Twisted stitches and intertwined cables in these socks are reminiscent of smoke tendrils rising up from a fire, and also echo the Celtic inspiration behind these socks

Seatoller Socks

Seatoller Socks

There's a cable running along one side of the front and back of the sock and plenty of relaxing stocking stitch to show off a beautiful yarn.

The unisex cable pattern and flexible pattern repeats make it an ideal sock for gift knitting.

Seed Pods Socks

Seed Pods Socks

Simple slipped stitch cables add fun and interest to this toe-up sock pattern. The cables give an interesting 3-D texture to the fabric - reminiscent of seed pods in the garden.

Sty Head Tarn Socks

Sty Head Tarn Socks

This sock is worked with a traditional gusset heel flap and is fully customisable in terms of length – further pattern repeats may be added as required, and width – additional ribbing may be added at the sides to fit a slightly wider foot. The unisex cable pattern and flexible pattern repeats make it an ideal sock for gift knitting.

Hardknott Socks

Hardknott Socks

A straightforward toe-up sock with a simple but effective central cable, reminiscent of traditional celtic knotwork.

Under a Rose Moon Socks

Under a Rose Moon Socks

These toe-up socks feature a central twisted cable design which reminded me of a rose trellis in appearance. The cable pattern looks complicated but is simple to memorise and the two side cables add a fun, textured element to the design.

Whinlatter Socks

Whinlatter Socks

This is a simple, cabled toe up sock ideally suited to solid or semi-solid yarn. Sized for an average woman’s foot (UK size 6) it is easy to customise the length of the foot or width if required.

Winter Footstep Socks

Winter Footstep Socks

A simple pair of toe-up socks with a gusset heel and slip stitch heel flap featuring an easy-to-memorise lace pattern. Without a purl stitch in sight, this lace pattern works up quickly and produces a delicate zig-zag

Grassguards

Grassguards

High up in the Dunnerdale fells above the hamlet of Seathwaite is a hidden farm called Grassguards. Reached only by intrepid walkers or off-road vehicles the winding access road passes through dense woods and then crosses an ancient ford. The water streaming across the mossy cobbles inspired this wave-like pattern, but unlike the original it is far more accessible.

This unisex toe-up pattern is written for the magic loop method of circular knitting but may easily be adapted to your preferred method of knitting in the round.
